Caran d’Ache, the Swiss ultra stylish pen brand, have released a new limited edition pen made in collaboration with jeweler Edouard Jud.

“Ganesh” is available as a fountain pen or ball-point and honors the Indian God Ganesh. The sculpted body contains gold and solid silver. The cap of the pen contain a beautiful ruby as a tribute to the nation of India and the habitat of the god Ganesh.

This incredibly detailed pen features a replica of the god Ganesh with a body of a human and head of an Elephant. Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles. He is also considered to be the Lord of Letters and Learning and was particularly worshipped by traders and merchants, who went out of India for commercial ventures.
It is said that by the power of thought he can overcome the barrier of ignorance and understand the nature of the universe.

According to Indian legend the gods live in a place that is illuminated by rubies. Caran d’Ache has incorporated this vision in this truly stunning work of art.

On the Amazon.com website it now says “We have been notified that there is a manufacturer defect with this product. We are working with the manufacturer to get this corrected and have the product available again. We will be notifying customers who have already ordered the product to alert them to the issue and offer a resolution.”

According to some reviewers on the Amazon website, they have received a box that has been damaged in the mail or contains cd’s with glue on them, which apparently is coming from the LP like sleeves made specifically for this box. Others state that they have received their items undamaged and without any glue marks whatsoever, so it appears some people are lucky and others are not. For a product with such a hefty price and shipping tag this is unacceptable.

Although I trust that Amazon will fully resolve this matter, please keep this in mind when ordering this item.
