Beatles Mono Box Remastered Limited Edition

The Beatles Mono Box Set is a special interest package for the hardcore fan. It contains the first ten albums in glorious remastered mono and a double album of singles and EP’s called the Mono Masters. Much of the mono content has its CD debut in this box set and at the time of writing this review the mono albums are only available on CD in this box set.

Why buy mono? Well for most of the recorded albums of The Beatles, the mono mix was the available system at the time. Stereo didn’t make its way into the average home until much later and was hardly available at the time, which means that stereo mixes were usually done much later, often by others and sound quite different from the originals. This box set contains the tracks like they were originally mixed in mono, but all tracks have been re-mastered to their original levels and now sound better than ever before. In fact its hard to tell that these are 45 year old recordings. Each disc is provided in a paper sleeve, with the original album cover, inserts and all original text so it is as if you are holding a miniturized version of the original vinyl records.
